Swedish Game Awards 2009: Grand Finale at Försvarshögskolan June 13
It's Grand Finale time for Sweden's biggest game development contest - Swedish Game Awards 2009.

Started in 2002 as KTH Game Awards, Swedish Game Awards has grown to be one of the biggest game development competitions in the world. The organization is non-profit and is run for students by students. The competition has a nationwide focus, with students from over 20 different colleges, spanning several disciplines. The 2009 competition run currently has over 100 registered entries with over 400 participants.
The competition is now in its final stages and the Grand Finale is coming up, on Saturday June 13. The event is made up of two main parts: the Games Expo and the Prize Ceremony. It takes place at Försvarshögskolan (the Swedish National Defence College) in Stockholm.
The Games Expo is a great opportunity to meet the cream of the crop of the established Swedish game development community and take a look at Swedish Game Awards 2009 Nominees: the 12 best games of the year.
After the Expo the final prize ceremony will be held. Orvar Säfström will be our host during this nerve racking unveiling of this years winner.
During the Finale there will be 12 nominees competing over 110 000 kr in price money, divided among the five different awards. The awards are:
- Game of the Year
- Best Innovation
- Best Execution
- Best XNA game
- Best JavaFX game
The Swedish Games Expo and the Awards Ceremony is open for the public, so don't miss this fantastic opportunity to meet the star developers of tomorrow and play their games. The established games developer community will of course also be present, hosting their owns booths at the Expo. Come and learn all you ever wanted to know about the Swedish games industry and its future.
