About the course
ICM, first launched in 1996, is a major international course event conducted by the Swedish National Defence College (SNDC) in Stockholm.
The aim of this senior/middle management course is for the participants to learn and understand the system of co-operation and interaction between the political level, its executive authorities, and various governmental, non-governmental and international organizations, in the context of international crisis management.
The purpose is also to present a broad view of different aspects of Peace Operations, from the perspectives of the international community, the United Nations and the contributing nations, and to learn from experiences of past international Peace Operations.
ICM 2010 provides an excellent opportunity to meet military and civilian participants representing GO's, NGO's, IGO's from all over the world and to work together in a two-step realistic setting, framed by a scenario which includes UN-mandated Peace Operation.
