The Centre for International and Operational Law of the Swedish Defence University is conducting research into the international legal aspects of military operations and is responsible for the education in this area within the various programmes of the SEDU.

The Certain Conventional Weapons Convention at 30 – Evolution, Contemporary Relevance, Context, and Challenges Ahead
On the 16th and 17th of September 2010 the International Law Centre of the Swedish National Defence College organized the international two-day conference "The Certain Conventional Weapons Convention at 30 – Evolution, Contemporary Relevance, Context, and Challenges Ahead", on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the CCW. The Conference was held at the Swedish National Defence College in Stockholm and received participants from a diverse range of institutions and organizations.

Expert Seminar on responsibility in multinational military operations
On 22 and 23 October 2009, the International Law Centre of the Swedish National Defence College and the Amsterdam Center for International Law of the University of Amsterdam has conducted the first of a series of research seminars on the theme 'Responsibility in Multinational Military Operations'. The closed seminar is part of a larger research project conducted at the International Law Centre of the Swedish National Defence College. The seminar was held in Stockholm.
