Emma Björnehed

Dr. Emma Björnehed is Assistant Professor (biträdande lektor) in War Studies at the Tactical Warfare Division, Maritime Operations Sections.

Björnehed received her PhD in Political Science from Uppsala University, Sweden, in 2012. She also has a M.Soc.Sci. in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University (2003), and a BA in International Relations and Development Studies from the University of Sussex, UK (2001).

Forsknings- och undervisningsområden

Björnehed has published on the Nepal internal conflict and peace process. The focus was on the role of framing in relation to the conflict and peace process and how this affected the conduct of the parties to the conflict.

Björnehed has also written on conflict resolution with the specific focus on terrorism and negotiation processes in South and South East Asia. She has also published on the concept of narcoterrorism.

Björnehed's teaching record include security studies, constructivism and thesis writing at Uppsala University. Björnehed has also taught International Relations at Stockholm University.
