2023
Generally
- A loan account is issued free of charge to those who have reached the age of 18, are registered in Sweden and can present a valid photo ID.
- Persons who are not registered in Sweden can register as a borrower upon presentation of a valid passport or other photo identification, if the stay lasts longer than three months from the issuance of the loan account.
The residential address in Sweden and the full address in the home country must be stated on the loan account application.
- The borrower undertakes to comply with the library's loan terms and conditions for
use of the library's computers. All information is available on the library's website and the borrower must keep up to date on any changes.
- The library account is required to borrow material from the Anna Lindh Library and to log in to the library's public computers.
- Report changed contact information via My loans. The borrower is responsible for ensuring that the information is correct.
- Patrons who consistently violate the library's rules can be suspended from borrowing and using the library's computers. Decisions on suspension are made and lifted by the library director.
Loans and returns
- All loans must be registered in the lending machine. Only one copy per title can be borrowed.
- The library's materials can be borrowed for 28 days. Reloans can be made a maximum of 6 times, provided that there is no reservation.
- The borrower is personally responsible for loans until they have been deregistered. Loans may not be transferred to another person. The library does not commit to sending out reminders, but only does so as a service.
- The borrower is responsible for returning the books in the same condition as at the time of lending, no later than the specified return date, or renewing the loan before the end of the loan period.
It is your responsibility as a borrower to keep track of the return date for the material you borrow at the library, even if you have not received the reminders that we send out. Remember not to bring books on the trip and to return books before longer holidays, distance studies. This also applies in case of illness.
- Returns are primarily done at a return machine outside the library's main entrance, which is open to the public on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Reference literature, rarities and journals are not loaned out and may not be removed from the library. Rarities may be read in the designated place in the library.
Delayed or lost material
- The borrower is responsible for ensuring that material that has not been returned, damaged or lost, is replaced with a new copy, or with a replacement fee of SEK 500 and an administrative fee of SEK 250. Materials with a purchase price above SEK 500 will be charged the actual cost. In the event of theft of borrowed material, no compensation is required if the borrower can present a police report.
- Loans that have not been returned after the third reminder are considered lost and the borrower will then receive an invoice for the replacement fee. If the books are returned after invoicing, only SEK 250 in administrative fee must be paid. If the invoice is not paid, the case goes to debt collection and the fee can then no longer be credited even if the material is later recovered.
- Fees that have not been invoiced are paid in the library. The library only accepts Swish as a payment method, not card or cash.
Processing of personal data
- The library processes personal data in accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
Personal data is stored for a maximum of two years after the expiry of the loan account. The personal data is only available to library staff and system suppliers. The borrower consents to the registration of personal data in connection with the application for a loan account.
