Course content and structure
The course aims to enable the doctoral student to develop their ability to present war studies research to different target audiences within and outside of the scientific community – nationally and internationally. The ability of a researcher to communicate effectively with different target groups, both nationally and internationally, is a basic requirement for research results to be of benefit to society. A central part of research communication itself is the written, published scientific text, but in this course the focus is on other forms of communication, for example, oral presentations, in podcasts, in debate articles in the daily press. During the course, emphasis is placed on the fact that research communication must take the target group and its expectations into account, for example, the research community, the general public, government and authorities as well as non-governmental organizations. During the course, the PhD-candidate will present their research to different target audiences as well as reflect upon these experiences.
