Seminar: Transformation of Professional military education from Sweden to Ukraine
Welcome to a seminar on the transformation of professional military education from Sweden to Ukraine: national challenges, opportunities and solutions at European military colleges and universities.
The recent developments in the world illustrated a great need for a professional military educated and trained according to the requirement of the modern strategic environment. Hence, more multi-faceted and systematic approaches to the preparation of the modern officers that will be involved across different roles in their respective services and international organizations like the UN, OSCE and NATO are required. The seminar is aimed to identify the key skills in the modern military profession and civil servants working with civil defence and security and how they are reflected in the teaching curriculum of higher education institutions across Europe.
Prominent scholars from different European military colleges and universities are invited to present and discuss challenges, opportunities and solutions in PME in their respective institutions and the overall trends in transformation of the military profession. Furthermore, discussions on the best practice, new pedagogical methods and cutting-edge technological tools in teaching professional officers according to modern standards will take place.
On the first day, November 6, one-day seminar at FHS aims to present speakers' expertise in different areas of professionalisation of the military and civil servants in the field of defence and security. It will provide an opportunity to engage with a wider audience here at FHS and Sweden.

On the second day, November 7 closed workshop (by invitation only) is to take place discussing various collaboration opportunities and further research initiatives within the field of PME.
The seminar is a free-of charge event. It is open for a wider audience of academics, military practitioners, PhD students interested, working or researching PME. Number of available places is limited to 30.
