Livestream state visit from France

President Emmanuel Macron will visit Sweden on 30–31 January 2024 at the invitation of His Majesty The King. On 30 January, he will also visit the Swedish Defence University for round-table discussions and a speech on security policy.

The purpose of the state visit is to strengthen and promote relations between Sweden and France. It also aims to stimulate deeper cooperation in areas such as innovation and the green transition, as well as defence and security in the region.

Focus on security policy

The King, President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson visit the Swedish Defence University at Karlberg Palace for a round-table discussion on the future of European security. Security policy experts from Sweden and France will participate. Jakob Hallgren, Director of the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, and Robert Egnell, Rector of the Swedish Defence University, welcome you on arrival.

After the roundtable discussion, which will also be attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson and National Security Adviser Henrik Landerholm, President Macron will give a lengthy speech to the cadets of the Swedish Defence University and other specially invited guests. The King and the Prime Minister will also speak.
