  2. If you are in your final Bachelor year, you can still apply. Please provide a signed and stamped document from your home university stating that you are likely to graduate before the semester when your master’s studies start. Please use the statement of enrollment status form on University Admissions webpage. Selection of eligible candidates

Selection is conducted in two distinct stages. In the first stage, a shortlist of 100 candidates is obtained on the basis of Grade Point Average. Shortlisted candidates are assessed in the second stage through an evaluation of their thesis, methods training, and subject relevance.

On the basis of GPA scores, each candidate receives a score to a maximum of 80. Each shortlisted candidate is then assigned additional points from a maximum of 20 according to the following criteria:

  • A score out of 10 for the quality of the thesis
  • A score out of 5 for methods training
  • A score out of 5 for subject relevance.

The final score (out of a maximum of 100) determines the final order in which candidates will be offered admission onto the programme.

Note: candidates that are not shortlisted do not receive any additional points to those awarded for their GPA.

Admission results

Admission results will be posted on universityadmissions.se on March 26.

Accepting your offer

If admitted, we will email you with an offer to confirm or decline your seat. Note that you cannot accept your seat through University Admissions.

Grade Point Average (GPA)

If your GPA is not stated on your degree certificate, you must upload a separate GPA summary document to your account on universityadmissions.se.

You may use the Excel file below to help you calculate your GPA:
Use this file in excel to help you calculate your Grade Point Average, GPA xlsx, 12.1 kB.

Your GPA summary document must include all four parts listed below.

1. Calculated average grade

Your GPA must be calculated based on the courses included in your bachelor’s degree, using the following formula:

Formula for calculation of Average grade = (The sum of (course grade x the course credit)) divided by total amount of course credits in your bachelor’s degree.

The picture above shows a formula for how to calculate Average grade = (The sum of (course grade x the course credit)) divided by total amount of course credits in your bachelor’s degree.

If your grades are awarded as letters, you must convert them to numerical values.

Example:
For a grade scale A–E, where E is the lowest passing grade:

  • A = 5
  • B = 4
  • C = 3
  • D = 2
  • E = 1

2. Minimum passing grade in your local grading system

State the lowest grade that is considered a pass in your university’s grading system.

3. Maximum grade in your local grading system

State the highest possible grade in your grading system.

4. Your statement

Your document must include your statement confirming that the information given is correct as to the best of your knowledge.
