July is a final-year PhD candidate in the Department of War Studies, within the Military Strategy Division. Her thesis analyzes the French nuclear approach from the post–Cold War period to 2025, focusing on state strategic choices and the continuity of French nuclear deterrence principles.

Her research interests also include classical nuclear deterrence theory, Arctic security dynamics, and the nuclear strategic debate, with particular attention to issues of nuclear legitimization, signalling, and the acquisition and deployment of nuclear weapons, as well as the role of social mechanisms in shaping nuclear strategies.

July holds a first Master’s degree in International Relations and a second Master’s degree in International Security Studies from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

She is a project member of the Military Innovation Network at King’s College London, and the conference producer of the Military Innovation Studies Summit.
