Sarah Backman is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Swedish Defence University, Department of War Studies. She holds a PhD in International Relations from Stockholm University.
Sarah’s research is situated in the field of cybersecurity politics and international relations. In particular, her work focuses on two central themes: cyber risk perceptions and complex sociotechnical systems.
Sarah has presented her research at numerous academic and policy-oriented conferences, including Nationella cybersäkerhetscentret, Cyberförsvarsdagarna, NATO MNICF, The Hague Programme for International Cybersecurity, Cyber UK, NEEDS, One Conference, EISA and ECPR. She served as HQ Cyber Advisor at the multinational military staff exercise VIKING 22.
