Virtual discussion: War is a feminist issue

Eventheader

Welcome to an open virtual discussion with the theme "War is a feminist issue", hosted by the Gender, Peace and Security Research Group at the Swedish Defence University.

Feminists scholars researching war, militaries and militarism gather at the Swedish Defence University (SEDU) on 15 and 16 June 2023 to map and assess the state of feminist contributions for understanding war.

Feminisms and Wars Community

The workshop is the first in a set of three of the recently established Feminisms and Wars Community, with follow-up events to be organised in Helsinki and Reykjavik in 2024.

"Given the current security developments in the Nordic region, it is crucial that we come together at this moment in time", says Anna Lindh Professor and project director Annick Wibben.

"By sharing our research frameworks, methods, and lessons learnt with a wider group of colleagues, we will be able to produce timely analyses on gender and war, as well as provide policy recommendations in the Nordics and beyond", maintains Wibben.

Open virtual session

One of the sessions during the days is open for everyone and can be accessed through the link:
