While the conflict and history of Israel/Palestine has its own specificities there are striking parallels to the arc of French colonisation of Algeria and its bloody war of liberation.

It is a messy and bloody story with no clear cut heroes — and thus more historically representative for how such conflicts are created and “resolved”. What in the two cases can we compare and what can learn from that comparison?
