Registration

Registration is compulsory, and is required in order for you to keep your place, and to ensure that your studies can be documented. It is the registration that allows you, for example, to apply for student funds, take out a degree certificate, and apply for student accommodation. Registration for autumn semester 2024 is open August 19-25 or October 21-27, depending on when the course starts.

A students register is kept in the study documentation system Ladok.

If you do not have a Swedish personal ID number. SEDU needs to make the registration for you. Please let us know, by emailing masterprogramme@fhs.se

This is how you register with a Swedish personal ID number:

Go to www.student.ladok.se and click "Choose university".
If you do not already have an active student account at the Swedish Defence University, choose "www.universityadmissions.se". (If you already have an active FHS account, select the Swedish Defence University, and use the FHS account to log in. (Carry on to point 5).
Click "Proceed to login".
Enter your personal ID number and password (the same as you use on www.universityadmissions.se).
Select the Swedish Defence University in the list of universities.
Before completing the registration, make sure that you have provided a valid email adress in Ladok. The email adress registered in Ladok is where you will receive login details for your student account. You should also enter a valid phone number in Ladok if the Swedish Defence University should need to contact you by telephone in the event of a security incident or crisis.
To complete the registration, find the list below "Current education" and "Upcoming". There, you will see the courses and programmes you have been admitted to. Click "Register", and confirm by clicking "Register me". When the course or programme appears on the list under "Current", registration has been completed.

It is important that you give a valid e-mail address when registering in Ladok so that you can obtain a student account (FHS account).

If you are studying a bachelor’s or master's programme, you must register before the course start for each new semester.

Registration for the autumn semester 2024 is open according to the below:

For courses that start in week 36-44, registration is open from August 19 to August 25.
For courses starting from week 45 onwards, registration is open from October 21 to October 27.

This is what you do:

Go to www.student.ladok.se and click "Select university for log in".
Select the Swedish Defence University and use your FHS account to log in.
Select the Swedish Defence University in the list of universities.
Under "Current education" and "Upcoming" lists you will see the courses and programmes you have been admitted to. Click "Register" and confirm by clicking "Register me". When the course or programme is shown on the list under "Current", registration is complete.
Check that your contact information (e-mail and phone number) in Ladok is updated.

Re-registration after non-completion

If you wish to continue on a course or programme that you have previously registered for however, have not completed, you need to apply for re-registration. This pertains to, for example, as mentioned above after non-completion of a course or programme..

To apply for re-registration, contact the course or programme administrator at the relevant department. Re-registration is subject to space and resources.

Continuation of studies after approved study leave

You do not need to apply for re-registration after approved leave from studies. Instead you apply for continuation of studies after approved leave from studies.
